The Solent Area has many Lodges, all are individual and have many members. They arrange a variety of social functions, many with a charitable fund raising aspect for deserving causes, the majority being none Masonic. Hospices, The RNLI, Voluntary services, children's charities etc. are all supported

Widows of Freemasons are kept involved and in touch with friends after their partners pass on, by social groups run by Freemasons, groups such as the Compass and Banter Groups. 

The Solent Area of Hampshire and Isle of Wight has two of these Groups, the Banter Group (Gosport and Fareham) and The Compass Group (Isle of Wight). Both have many members of many Lodges taking part and they generate many Friendships.
